Because we won’t publish the Church News Update this week, we will put 2 mystery clues for our Church News Update Contest in the May 10 issue. Those clues will give all contestants a total of 6 clues. The seventh and final clue will be given on May 17. Then, contestants can rearrange the mystery clues to solve the secret message. They can contact Phil any time after noon on May 17 to submit their entries. The first person to give him the correct answer will win a gift card worth $30 at a local restaurant.

Since our church offices are closed this week for moving them to our new location, we will not publish this week’s issue of the Church News Update. However, we will try to resume next week on May 10.

First Worship In New Building

Last Sunday, April 29, New Horizons met for the first time in our new location. It was exciting to have our Bible classes and worship in a place that we can call home for the next three years. Of course, we must consider any place that we gather to be a temporary location because no place on earth is really our home. The Lord has prepared a far better home for us in Heaven and Jesus will come, someday, to take us there.

Church Office Closed April 30-May 6

Our church offices will be closed from April 30-May 6 as we move them to our new location. This means our telephone service, email correspondence, and the Church News Update will not function as usual. Please excuse this interruption in service.

Mother-Daughter Tea & Program

In honor of Mother’s Day, all the ladies of the church and their friends are invited to attend the Mother-Daughter Tea & Program on Saturday, May 12, at 1:00 PM at the WOW Fika European Cafe. It is located at 15505 Stoneybrook West Parkway, near the intersection with Avalon Road and next to the Walgreens Drug Store. The menu includes a wide selection of teas, small sandwiches, cakes, and pastries. The cost is $10 per person. Make your reservations at worship on Sunday mornings by using the sign-up sheet or by contacting Susan Walter (407-905-2684).
